Was thinkin’ about Jesus …
Started to read PSALM 112, and got stuck on the first few words, “… Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who delights greatly in His commandments. NKJ
OK … blessed = empowered; fear the Lord = PROVERBS 8:13 … fear of the Lord is to hate evil. But, the part where I stopped was … delights greatly in His commandments … delight … hmmmmm. Was thinking what delight means as it’s not a word I use much. Thought of looking it up, but then the thought of Jesus came to mind. He definitely would fit the description of one who fears the Lord, and He was the one who said He could only do what He saw the Father doing (JOHN 5:13) … next thought, Yep! That must be “delighting greatly in His commandments” … only doing what I see the Father doing, and I see that in Jesus.
Next thought – what the Lord told Rufus Moseley—a great man of God who went to heaven some years ago—in these words: “Life in Jesus is gloriously easy. It has one responsibility: the responsibility of remaining in union. If you stay in union with Me, I’ll take care of everything else.”
I’m saying, “I’m staying in union with Jesus. He’s the vine; I’m the branch: there’s not one thing that I can do or produce that’s good outside of Him. Jesus, You are my strength, my wisdom, my blamelessness before God, my Shield, my God! I will trust in You today; not lean upon my own ability or understanding. My Good Shepherd, You are going to lead me every step of this day and I’m coming out a winner and a beacon of light to a dying world. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! in Jesus name!”
