Think of yourselves the way Christ Jesus thought of himself … equal status with God but … he set aside the privileges of deity and took on the status of a slave … PHILIPPIANS 1:5-7 MSG
When I find myself slipping out of this place of humility … setting myself up for a fall, I run to Jesus, cause once I’m in the sweetness of His presence, everything else gets put in its proper perspective.
It ain’t easy to think “slave” … but the preciousness of being of one mind with Jesus, and those around me that love Him, is so weighty … coining phrases of a good friend … it’s “truffley” and “delicious” .. once I re-taste humility, my distorted connotations of being a “slave” of Christ melt to nothing. Such a place of rest.
I’m saying, “Here I am Lord, rolling every care, every concern, every worry, every thought of what others are doin’ or thinkin’, over on You. I’m here to receive my orders from You, my assignments for this day. Live big in me today. I receive the dynamite power You’ve stored in me to strengthen me; Your Outrageous Grace to equip me for all You’ve prepared for me to do today. I take this. I have it. I thank You, and I forgive as You’ve forgiven me … so Mercifully. All in Jesus name.”
